Entry-level lawyers are hired primarily through the Summer Program, which is run exclusively in the firm's Phoenix office. Each fall, the firm recruits on the campuses of leading law schools to identify qualified and diverse candidates for its Summer Program. And each summer, Jennings Strouss welcomes a select few to participate in the 10-week program. The purpose of our small program, which was implemented in 2008, is to provide a first hand view of day-to-day life and work at the firm as well as a more personalized, meaningful experience with more complex and interesting work. To this end, you will gain exposure to as many practice groups and attorneys as possible.
Summer associates generally remain "unassigned" throughout the program, allowing them to work in a variety of practice areas. However, requests for concentration in specific practice areas are considered and can usually be accommodated. Rather than following a strict rotation schedule, in which the nature, duration and depth of assignments are predetermined, summer associates are given the flexibility to work continuously on several different matters. This provides the freedom to follow issues as they emerge and often see matters through to completion.
Summer associates can expect:
- Thoughtful Mentoring and Supervision
- Relevant Training Programs
- Extensive Practice Group Experience
- Competitive Compensation
It is our sincere intent that as a summer associate at Jennings Strouss, you will complete meaningful work and feel the satisfaction of having done so. In the process, you will have personally experienced our collaborative culture along with the wide range of complex and challenging matters we address.
