Mr. Lassen is a Member of Jennings, Strouss & Salmon. In over 47 years of practice he has represented a wide variety of businesses and institutions in nearly every aspect of the law.
Mr. Lassen's practice focuses primarily on estate planning, succession planning for family and closely held businesses, and estate and trust administration. He advises and assists individuals and families in planning for the effective disposition of their property in a manner that minimizes gift and estate tax liabilities. This ranges from preparation of simple wills and trusts to the most sophisticated estate plans involving documents such as irrevocable life insurance trusts, family limited partnerships, generation-skipping trusts, minors' educational trusts, special needs trusts, charitable lead and remainder trusts, and private charitable foundations. Mr. Lassen also represents guardians and conservators in dealing with the estates of minors and incapacitated persons.
Mr. Lassen has served as counsel to trustees and personal representatives of numerous multi-million dollar estates and trusts, and he frequently advises fiduciaries (including corporate and individual trustees and estate personal representatives) in fulfilling their duties. He also represents clients in matters involving contested trusts and wills and in guardian and conservator disputes.
