Nancy Pohl is an Associate attorney practicing in the Estate Planning and Probate, Tax and Corporate Securities and Finance Departments. Her practice is focused on corporate and partnership tax planning, estate planning, tax-exempt organizations, general business planning and federal and state tax litigation.
Ms. Pohl's transactional tax planning practice includes structuring partnerships and limited liability companies, mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, spin-offs and restructuring transactions. In connection with her tax controversy practice, Ms. Pohl has represented taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and the Arizona Department of Revenue. She has litigated in Tax Court and also has obtained private letter rulings from the IRS.
Ms. Pohl also advises clients on estate planning and probate matters. She assists clients in wealth transfer planning, including the implementation of revocable trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, family partnerships and grantor retained annuity trusts. Ms. Pohl advises clients on charitable planning, including the creation of private foundations and charitable remainder trusts.

Representative Engagements
- Handled various tax and ERISA aspects of securitization of mortgage loans and real estate assets owned by various entities controlled by our client. ERISA issues were related to potential prohibited transactions that could occur because the qualified plans controlled by related parties had loaned funds to the entities selling their assets
