Nancy Pohl is an attorney practicing in the Estate Planning and Probate, Tax, and Corporate Securities and Finance Departments. Her practice is focused on corporate and partnership tax planning, estate planning, tax-exempt organizations, general business planning and federal and state tax controversy.
Ms. Pohl advises clients on estate planning and probate matters. She assists clients in wealth transfer planning, including the implementation of revocable trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, family partnerships and grantor retained annuity trusts. Ms. Pohl advises clients on charitable planning, including the creation of private foundations and charitable remainder trusts. She also assists clients with asset protection planning.
Ms. Pohl's transactional tax planning practice includes advising closely held businesses forming business entities, structuring partnerships and limited liability companies, mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, spin-offs and other restructuring transactions. In connection with her tax controversy practice, Ms. Pohl has represented taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and the Arizona Department of Revenue. She has litigated in Tax Court and also has obtained private letter rulings from the IRS.
