Mr. Sundlof has a broad range of experience in general commercial representation. Where possible, he works closely with business clients to anticipate and avoid legal problems, or to minimize legal problems which already exist.
Mr. Sundlof's representation encompasses both litigation and non-litigation matters, including business negotiations, contracts, procurement, licensing, real estate, banking, construction and insurance. He also has extensive experience in administrative and governmental representation.
Mr. Sundlof's primary focus is in the area of utility law. He has over thirty-five years of extensive experience in the utility industry, including work in the electric, telecommunications, natural gas and water sectors. His experience extends to nearly all the legal and regulatory needs of utilities and their customers. Representative clients include or have included Salt River Project (SRP), New West Energy, Southwest Gas, US WEST, NextEra Energy, Starwood Energy, American Association of Retired Persons, Residential Utility Consumers Office, Arizona Cogeneration Association, and Arizona Community Action Association.
Since 1998, Mr. Sundlof has served as the liaison between Salt River Project (a federal reclamation project and one of the largest public power entities in the nation) and Jennings Strouss and Salmon (who serves as General Counsel to SRP), and has been involved in almost all aspects of law involving SRP, including regulatory, legislative, environmental siting, general utility law, new transmission and generation projects, electric industry restructuring, contracting, local government, dispute resolution, public processes, governance and federal regulation.
