Overview

Several years ago, the Management Committee of Jennings Strouss & Salmon recognized a desire among attorneys and staff to give back to the community that supports them. While many of them contributed funds and volunteered for worthy causes whenever possible, they wanted to make a more significant personal impact to highlight issues and solve problems in underserved communities. Establishing a private foundation that would maximize employees' efforts and allow the firm to outwardly express its commitment to social responsibility and philanthropic causes seemed a natural solution. Thus the Jennings Strouss Foundation ("JS Foundation") was born.

The current focus of the JS Foundation is to meet the educational needs of disadvantaged individuals, adults and/or children, in the communities in which the firm operates. This goal is reached through the collective efforts, whether financial, in-kind donation, or volunteer work, of the employees of Jennings, Strouss & Salmon, their families, and their friends.

While the programs sponsored by the JS Foundation will surely help improve living and learning conditions for its recipients in the present, the ultimate goal of the Foundation's work is to lay the groundwork and pave new roads towards a better future for all.
