Jennings Strouss is again partnering with ASU Technopolis and other entities to co-sponsor the 6th Annual Commercializing Life Sciences Forum ("Conference") on March 25, 2010 in Scottsdale, Arizona at ASU's Skysong campus. This year's Conference, entitled Accelerating Concept Into A Bioscience Company, will address some of the ways these bioscience companies and researchers can confront these challenges and accelerate the commercialization of these inventions into market-ready diagnostic or therapeutic products.
The Conference will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 25th, at ASU-SkySong in Scottsdale, AZ. Information on the conference is below and on the enclosed postcard. Here is a summary of the Conference highlights:

- SESSION 1: CORE IP AND OTHER FOUNDATIONAL CONSIDERATIONS
Panel Discussion: This session will identify some of the core intellectual property issues and formative structural challenges that should be addressed in the formative stages of a bioscience startup company in order to maximize that startup's potential of attracting capital and accelerating its research & development plans.
- SESSION 2: BUSINESS/CORPORATE STRUCTURE AND STRATEGY
Panel Discussion: This session will address the primary legal issues to consider when creating a new company, product validation and market research techniques, and the essential components of a quality business plan.
- SESSION 3: FINANCING OPPORTUNITIES AND ALTERNATIVES
Panel Discussion: This session will provide an overview of the current venture capital landscape, with a focus on "valley of death" financing. Discussion will also address non-traditional capital sources, how investments are typically evaluated, and commentary on the pros and cons of investments in bioscience companies from the investor viewpoint.
