With the increasing rate of change in technology, emerging economies and regional cooperation, the global standard setting infrastructure is evolving rapidly. This Fall, Kavi Corporation, ConsortiumInfo.org/Gesmer Updegrove LLP, Virtual Management, and Jennings, Strouss & Salmon, will present an interactive analysis of the growing influence of Europe and Asia on technology standard setting organizations. The program takes place during World Standards Week October 3-7 in Washington, D.C. in conjunction with the ANSI Annual Conference.

At this event, panels of experts will review and comment on current issues such as the ongoing European Union investigations into "ambush patents" and their scrutiny of IPR policies, the risks and rewards to Western companies and existing SDO and consortia ("SSOs") of China's increasing focus on the strategic importance of standards (and of controlling how they are set), and the increasing adoption of open source software by state, national and regional governments.Watch this site for further details on topics and panelists and/or subscribe to the series mailing list to get notified when we finalize our plans.
